The iconic Irish band U2 recently posted an update on their official webpage and announced that the next episode of their ‘U2: Virtual Road’ will be their unforgettable 2015 Paris performance which will be released on their YouTube on April 10.
As you may recall, November 13, 2015, was a sorrowful day for Paris and the rest of the world. On that day, a series of coordinated Islamist terrorist attacks took place in Paris and Saint-Denis. The attackers killed 130 people, injured 416 people and almost 100 of them were in critical condition.
After the terrorist attacks, U2, Prince, and the Foo Fighters rescheduled their concert dates. Although some people found this understandable others criticized the musicians for not going on stage regardless, as it would raise the Parisians’ spirits. U2 got on stage for the last performance of their Innocence + Experience Tour on December 7, 2015, and the concert was recorded live.
Since March 17, the band has been posting special cuts from some of their iconic performances. They have already uploaded three of them on U2’s official YouTube account, and in just some hours they will upload the band’s unforgettable performance in Paris. The band advised their fans not to miss the new video from their ‘Virtual Road‘ series both on their official webpage and Instagram account.
Here’s what U2 said in the caption of their recent Instagram post:
“‘This show was one of the most memorable of our lives. To return to Paris at such a heightened time, it was emotional, we didn’t know what to expect… From ourselves, from the crowd… Plus the pressure of it all being filmed… But the songs, the city, the fans, they all got us through. It was a very special night.’ – Adam
