Former Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar spoke in the recent interview with Rolling Stones and shared his opinion about the statement of David Lee Roth, which says that Van Halen is finished.

During the latest appearance on the Meltdown Show, David Lee Roth made a conversion statement about Van Halen and stated that the band is finished. Also, he said that even though the band is coming back, there would be no fashion that everybody knows.

Sammy Hagar responded to this claim by David Lee and explained that the band will never be dead until Eddie and Alex Van Halen die. Furthermore, he wished that Van Halen could be more active.

Additionally, Sammy has given the green light for the reunion of the band and said that he and Eddie have lots of work to do, and they are not done yet. As he stated in, this reunion should be happening, and it doesn’t matter if they pick David Lee or Sammy.

Here is what David Lee Roth said earlier:

“That’s been canceled a number of times. I think Van Halen’s finished and this, mentioning David Lee Roth Las Vegas residency, is the next phase. I’ve inherited the band de facto, whatever that means.

I think it means if you inherit it, carry it proudly. Van Halen isn’t gonna be coming back in the fashion that you know. With that being said, Eddie’s got his own story to tell – not mine to tell it.”

Here is what Sammy Hagar said:

“Until Ed or Alex Van Halen die – they’re not finished. Those are two great musicians that can friggin’ do as good as most people at half-mast.

As a drummer and as a guitarist and creative person, Eddie, I can’t see them ever being finished. I wish they were more active, but I think Van Halen will never be finished.”

Sammy Hagar about the reunion:

“I foresee it happening. I’m not trying to plant a seed like I know something is happening. I know nothing. I just know what I know in my heart and my head, which is that it has to happen.

Whether it’s Sam and Dave or not, I don’t know that either. But I know that Eddie and I are not done. If enough water goes under the bridge before we die, it’ll happen. It has to. God is going to slap us both around if he has to.”
