Van Halen’s current frontman, David Lee Roth shared the latest episode of his iconic podcast, The New Roth Show today and revealed a really rare story.
As you will see his statements below, David Lee Roth admitted that the first concert he went to see was Janis Joplin‘s, and he didn’t have a chance to see because he couldn’t pay the admission.
Here is what he said, transcribed by Metalhead Zone:
“The first concert that I went to but I actually didn’t get to see cuz I didn’t have the price of admission was Janis Joplin.
Iron Butterfly was opening for them, I’m sorry 1968 I had to sneak out the window of my parents’ house, join up with half a dozen other kids get into somebody’s bomb one of these cars we had to push.”
