On Instagram, late Soundgarden star Chris Cornell‘s wife Vicky Cornell posted some photos with Chris and late guitarist Johnny Ramone‘s wife Linda to celebrate her birthday and shared an emotional memory that happened soon after her husband’s death.

The iconic Audioslave and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell passed away on May 18, 2017, at the age of 52. Chris was found dead in a hotel room after suffering from depression for a long time. His death later revealed as suicide by hanging himself.

Recently on Instagram, Chris Cornell’s wife Vicky Cornell posted some old photos with her husband and the late guitarist of punk rock band Ramones Johnny Ramone‘s wife Linda to celebrate her birthday. On the caption of her post, Vicky remembered an emotional memory she had right after Chris’s devastating death.

Apparently, a few weeks after Chris’s death, Vicky took her kids to the Ramone’s Ranch to visit Linda. Later, she felt overwhelmed and started crying in silence in the bathroom named ‘Disney bathroom‘. Linda forced Vicky to open the door and pick her up off the floor saying if she wanted to cry, she should have done it in the ‘Elvis Room.’ Vicky added how supportive Linda was to her and her family during their hardest times.

Here’s what Vicky Cornell stated on the caption of her recent post:

I had to make a special post for my bestie and wish her a happy belated birthday – I never get it right;)

Linda, You are one of the strongest, kindest people I have ever met, and I’m so grateful that Chris brought you into our lives. We have had the best of times all together through the years, but it is during tragedy you find out who your friends truly are.

I will never forget a few weeks after Chris died, I had finally left the hotel room and went over to the Ramone’s Ranch for a visit with kids, and I was just so overwhelmed with sadness I slipped off to the “Disney bathroom“ to cry in silence.”

She continued:

“The many memories we all shared together at the Ramone’s Ranch came rushing back to me. A few minutes later you came knocking and said, “Vicky Cornell? Open the door.” Hearing panic, I opened it, and you literally picked me up off the floor saying, “Are you crying in the happiest place on Earth? If you’re gonna cry, at least cry in the Elvis room!” 😂💖

Thank you for being such a big support system for me, my babies, and yiayia who love you so very much. There aren’t many truly good people in the world, you are one of them as Chris always said and he was right- I love you, Ramone .
Happy birthday Linda Ramone 💞🌈💞 luv ya!”
