David Coverdale mourned the death of Mike Finnigan by sharing a new post on Whitesnake’s official Instagram account.

Mike Finnigan was a keyboardist and vocalist, and he had worked with musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Jim Krueger, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and many more. Unfortunately, the musician passed away on August 11 due to kidney cancer at the age of 76.

In 2000, Mike had also worked with David Coverdale for his ‘Into The Light’ album, the third solo album of the musician. Mike mostly played organ and piano in the recording. The pair had a great time together, and they became friends.

Following the passing of Mike, David was devastated and wanted to share his feelings on social media. In David’s words, he was very sad to hear the passing of such a talented musician and wonderful person.

In the caption of his post, Coverdale expressed that he is heartbroken right now and showed his respect for the late musician and all the beautiful notes he left in this world.

David Coverdale shared his feelings about the passing of Mike Finnigan:

“So very sad to hear the news of the passing of this fantastic man & incredible musician… I was honored to work with him on my ‘Into The Light’ album… Heartbreaking…”
