Former Ozzy Osbourne bassist Bob Daisley spoke in an interview with The Metal Voice and revealed his comment on ‘who is the best guitarist?’.
Here’s the statement:
“They rate off all the guitarists, like Steve Vai and Randy Rhoads and Jake E. Lee and Gary Moore and Ritchie Blackmore and all these different people. And they say, ‘Which one do you rate the highest?’ or ‘Who’s the best?’
And I just say ‘There is no real best.’ I think whatever the situation was at the time, they were the best in that situation.
Ritchie Blackmore was the best guitarist in Rainbow and Randy Rhoads was the best guitarist in The Blizzard of Ozz, and Jake E. Lee was the best guitarist in the Ozzy Osbourne band, and Gary Moore was the best guitarist in the Gary Moore band… [Laughs]
It’s very difficult to say, ‘He’s better than him because of this.’ They’re all enjoyable and they’re all great musicians and great players. It would be just too difficult to say, ‘He is my all-time favorite.’ I love them all and they’ve all been great. I’ve always rated Gary very high on the ladder.
One thing I’d like to add about Jake E. Lee is that Gary rated Jake E. Lee very highly, saying, ‘I think he’s one of the best ones that Ozzy ever had.’ That was his attitude.”
