One of the biggest Freddie Mercury fan pages of the whole social media and also internet, Freddie Mercury Online, has shared a couple of recent photos today and unveiled some of the most wondered questions about the late Queen icon.

Freddie Mercury Online has unearthed one of the rarest interviews of Freddie Mercury’s friend and also the bodyguard of him, Peter Freestone, and showed off his little known sides from his most prized possession to the exact reason of why Freddie decided to grow a mustache.

According to Peter, Freddie has made a lot of style changes in his life and he likened himself with the Marlboro Man who was one of the ‘macho’ figures of the United States these days. But the main reason was, Freddie was hating his teeth and this was a great cover-up for hiding them.

Here are the statements of Peter Freestone about Freddie’s unknown sides:

“What was Freddie’s most prized possession?

Freddie possessed many things, property, art, crystal, and all the trinkets that he wanted, but on more than one occasion he said that you can have everything you ever want, but without real friends to enjoy these things with, you might as well have nothing. Anybody can have things you can buy, but not everybody has good friends like Freddie knew he had. In an interview he was asked if he lost all his money, what would he do. His reply, do it all over again. In his mind, you can replace items, not friends.

Why did Freddie grow a mustache?

Freddie changed his image a few times throughout his career. The mustache was part of that. Freddie had spent time in the USA at the end of the 70s and in the last of those years his hair was getting shorter and the days of the spandex costumes were going. He had noticed that there was a new ‘macho’ image appearing in the States, which suited him. I think it originated with the Marlboro Man, the image from the cigarette adverts. It had been taken up by the gay community in America, but for Freddie, it was a great cover-up for his teeth, which he hated.”

Freddie at the airport in Brussels, 1980❤️. — 👉 Some questions answered by Phoebe (Peter Freestone)… 📌 What was Freddie’s most prized possession? 💬 Freddie possessed many things, property, art, crystal and all the trinkets that he wanted, but on more than one occasion he said that you can have everything you ever want, but without real friends to enjoy these things with, you might as well have nothing. Anybody can have things you can buy, but not everybody has good friends like Freddie knew he had. In an interview he was asked if he lost all his money, what would he do. His reply, do it all over again. In his mind you can replace items, not friends. 📌 Why did Freddie grow a mustache? 💬 Freddie changed his image a few times throughout his career. The moustache was part of that. It had been taken up by the gay community in America, but for Freddie, it was a great cover up for his teeth, which he hated. 📌 Did Freddie’s personality changed along with his styles? 💬 Not really, Freddie remained the person he was all the way through my time with him. Perhaps he became a little bit more impatient towards the end of his life, but that was something totally understandable. 📌 Let’s talk about Freddie’s “hawaiian” shirts… 💬 I believe Freddie did visit Hawaii before I joined him in 1979. As to whether his liking of Hawaiian style shirts followed from then, I am not sure. What I do know is that Freddie loved the bright colours that are to be found on these shirts, and that is the main reason he used to wear them through to the end of his life. ➡️ I love love loooove seeing casual pictures of Freddie, he looks perfect even when he’s doing nothing😂😍.
