Zakk Wylde made a recent appearance on the Talking Metal podcast and recalled the time when Ozzy Osbourne thought he wanted to kill him.

Zakk Wylde is a talented musician mainly known for his successful career as the lead guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and as the frontman of Black Label Society. Wylde joined Ozzy Osbourne as a replacement for Randy Rhoads and recorded numerous songs with the band. The guitarist then left the band but played with them occasionally.

In 2017, Ozzy Osbourne embarked on his ‘No More Tours II’ tour and performed until 2019, when COVID-19 became a concern. In 2020, the musician released his twelfth album ‘Ordinary Man,’ after ten years of not releasing a new record. Moreover, it was announced that he will resume touring in 2022.

Speaking to Talking Metal, Zakk Wylde talked about his time in Ozzy’s band and revealed the song Ozzy refuses to sing. In the podcast, the host asked him if Ozzy’s setlist will change as he recently released a new record, ‘Ordinary Man.’ He responded by saying that Ozzy is the boss and he does what he wants.

Furthermore, Wylde recalled the time he offered Ozzy to open a show with Black Sabbath’s ‘Hole In The Sky.’ Following that, Ozzy claimed Wylde wanted him to die and said his head would explode halfway through the first verse if he ever sang that song.

Answering whether Ozzy would change his setlist, Zakk Wylde told Talking Metal the following:

“If he wants to. He’s the boss, I mean, if that’s what he wants to do, and that’s what we’ll do, whatever Oz wants to do.”

This is what Wylde said about the time he made the Black Sabbath suggestion:

“He said, ‘Zakk, you want to put anything else on the set?’ I said, ‘Why don’t we open up with ‘Hole in the Sky,’ what do you think?’ He says, ‘You don’t like me, do you? You want me to die. My head will explode halfway through the first verse.'”
