Wolfgang Van Halen recently posted a tweet on his Twitter account with which he responded to Sebastian Bach’s reaction to his latest song called ‘Distance.’
As you may recall, Van Halen’s iconic guitarist Eddie Van Halen passed away on the 6th of October after battling throat cancer for years. His death has been heartbreaking for his fans, but it has been much harder for his family. Wolf and Eddie had a deep relationship, which extended further than father and son which has made it difficult for Wolf to move on.
Eddie’s passing has been very painful for Wolf, who has turned to music as a way of coping with his loss. On the 16th of November, Wolfgang Van Halen released his first solo song called ‘Distance‘ with the name Mammoth WVH. The touching song, in which Wolfgang sings about his feelings for his deceased father, Eddie Van Halen, brought tears to the eyes of Van Halen fans.
The song has reached Number 1 on iTunes and been praised by numerous rockstars, including Sammy Hagar. Wolf’s first solo song has already achieved critical acclaim for Wolf’s talent in both singing and writing.
One of the most recent reactions that the song received was by Sebastian Bach. Skid Row‘s former frontman praised Wolf Van Halen for his recent success and also thanked him as a listener for creating such a heartfelt and emotional song.
The conversation between Wolf and Sebastian Bach lasted a while as Bach continued complimenting on Wolf and his music every time that Wolf appreciated his response. The conversation started with Bach congratulating Wolf on his new song and saying that Wolf’s the best lead vocal Bach has heard all year while the song’s lyrics too are the best he has come across in 2020.
Here’s what Sebastian Bach said about ‘Distance’:
“Without compare, the best lead vocal I have heard all year, no question, is by
Wolfgang Van Halen. You did it man! ‘Distance‘ is the best song with the most touching heartfelt vocals I have heard all year nobody even comes close. Thank you. Your dad’s spirit is in your music.”
To which Wolf Van Halen responded:
“Thanks so much, my friend. Means the world.”
It seems like this conversation was not enough for Sebastian as he had more to say about ‘Distance.’ Sebastian Bach shared with his fans and followers that distance has become a song as emotionally descriptive as ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon and as ‘Blurry’ by Puddle of Mudd’ for him.
Sebastian Bach claimed that, just like the songs mentioned above, Wolf’s song ‘Distance’ has become one of the songs that Bach listens to when he’s reminiscing the good days he has had with his own father. It seems like Wolf and Sebastian connected emotionally through Wolf’s song ‘Distance’ as they are both men who are missing their fathers.
Here’s what Sebastian Bach said about Wolf’s new song ‘Distance’:
“I put ‘Distance’ in the same category as ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon and ‘Blurry’ by Puddle of Mudd, songs that remind me so much of my own dad I have to be ready to hear them and have to recuperate afterward! Love your high tenor range always been a sucker for that sound Microphone. Great pipes!”
To which Wolfgang Van Halen replied:
“Dude, wow. Thank you.”
