Mammoth WVH’s founder Wolfgang Van Halen recently posted a photo on his Instagram account and reminisced the great memories he has from when he and his father, Eddie Van Halen, performed together while he was still alive.

As you may recall, Wolf released his debut solo record ‘Distance‘ on November 16, 2020, as a tribute to his father Eddie Van Halen, under his new stage and band name, Mammoth WVH. The song was very well received and ranked Number 1 in numerous categories on the Billboard charts.

This increasing success must have reminded Wolf of his father and their legendary band Van Halen. There is no doubt that Wolf gained his first experiences as a growing rockstar on stage with Van Halen. In specific he remembered that one night when Van Halen performed at ‘Cafe Wha?’

‘Cafe Wha?’ is located in Greenwich Village in New York City and is without a doubt one of the most popular clubs of all time and has had legendary guests from Jimi Hendrix to Bob Dylan. Van Halen played there on January 5, 2012, which was one of their first shows for the ‘Different Kind of Truth’ tour and Wolf seems to still remember how great it felt to play ‘new tunes for the first time’ but more importantly, ‘in such a fun venue.’

Here’s what Wolf said in the caption of his Instagram post:

“9 years ago today, we played one of our first shows for the ‘Different Kind of Truth’ tour at the ‘Cafe Wha?’ So exciting playing new tunes for the first time. Especially in such a fun venue.”
