Wolfgang Van Halen recently posted a rare family photo on his Instagram account and cherished some of his childhood memories with his father, Eddie while breaking the hearts of his fans and followers.

As you know, Eddie Van Halen passed away on October 6 this year after battling throat cancer for more than five years. He was mourned by millions all over the world but this time has been especially difficult for his family.

There is no doubt that Wolf and Eddie were very close. Their relationship was not restricted to their familial bond as they were also bandmates, friends, and basically partners in crime. While Eddie was battling cancer, Wolf did his best to cope with his father’s situation and be there for him.

However, Eddie’s health status broke Wolf’s heart who decided to channel his feelings into music and write the song he would release after his father’s death, ‘Distance.’ It has been a month since Wolf released his first solo song which ranked first in numerous categories on the Billboard charts.

‘Distance,’ Wolf’s tribute to his father increased Wolf’s fame who often wished his father could be here to be proud of him. As you might remember, for the first month after Eddie’s passing, Wolf only posted black and white photos of his father and himself.

Even though in the past month he used his Instagram profile to promote his latest song and thank everyone for their support, it seems like with his recent post, he wanted to pay tribute to his father and show that Eddie never leaves his mind.

Wolf recently posted a childhood photo of himself with Eddie, and his mother Valerie Bertinelli. It looks like Wolf has been spending some time looking at his childhood photos and that he liked this happy memory so much that he wanted to share it with his fans and followers.

Here’s what was inscribed on the photo:

Right here, right now: Eddie Van Halen with his wife, actress Valerie Bertinelli, and son Wolfgang.”

This is the only thing Wolf wrote in the caption of his photo:

“❤️”
