Slipknot is reportedly teasing a major announcement for September 28th through a new campaign that has begun surfacing online, as shared in a video on Instagram. The campaign features street teasers across the Americas and a new webpage link that asks users for their email, first name, city, and zip code.
The teaser campaign has sparked significant speculation among fans, with many wondering if a massive stadium tour or a new album is on the horizon.
“28.09 – unlock. slipknot1. com,” Slipknot Brasil posted.
Fans have shared various theories regarding the mysterious teasers appearing in different locations. One fan commented on the possibility of a large-scale event.
“Could it be a Knotfest tour perhaps?” the fan asked. “Meaning multiple big bands to sell a stadium.”
Another fan noted that posters have also appeared in South America, raising hopes for regional tour dates.
“Here in Argentina also posters appeared in the streets!” the fan said. “Hopefully they will tour Latin America!”
Additionally, another supporter outlined multiple possibilities for the upcoming date.
“I have 3 theories,” the fan explained. “It can be World Tour with dates, that day the album is released, or that day something else is announced.”
The official announcement is expected to be revealed on September 28.
The speculation around a possible Knotfest tour carries weight, given how central the festival brand has become to the band’s live identity in recent years. Slipknot created Knotfest as a band-curated festival, and the event has since expanded around the globe with landmark editions held in the U.S., Japan, Mexico, and Colombia.
The festival’s reach has continued to grow in 2026. According to the same outlet, Slipknot recently announced the inaugural Italian edition of Knotfest, marking another expansion of the brand into a new territory.
On the music side, fans hoping for a new album also have reason to pay attention to the September 28 date. The band’s most recent studio album is The End, So Far, which was released on September 30, 2022, and served as their last full-length release under Roadrunner Records.
That label relationship has since ended, leaving the band’s release plans open. Slipknot completed their recording contract with longtime label home Roadrunner with The End, So Far, and early September 2026 coverage reported that tracking for a forthcoming new album was underway.
Recent reports have also pointed to a quiet live calendar, which only adds to the intrigue surrounding the teasers. Guitarist Jim Root noted that Slipknot currently have no tour dates scheduled, allowing the nine-piece to concentrate fully on new music rather than balancing recording around a busy live calendar.
With no announced tour dates and new material reportedly in progress, the September 28 announcement could point toward either a return to the road, a new release, or a combination of both. Fans will find out when the campaign unlocks.
