Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation has announced a $100,000 grant to support earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela through Direct Relief, its longtime humanitarian partner. Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026, devastating parts of the country and creating an urgent humanitarian crisis.

The scale of the disaster is staggering. Up to 6.8 million Venezuelans may be affected by the earthquakes, including those displaced or losing access to electricity and water. More than 68,000 people were reported missing within three days of the disaster. The official death toll has exceeded 2,000.

Direct Relief is preparing comprehensive medical aid commonly needed after earthquakes. This includes first-aid supplies, hygiene items for displaced families, medicines used to treat acute injuries, and chronic disease medications for people whose access to routine care may be interrupted. The $100,000 grant will support Direct Relief as the organization continues to respond to requests in the region as they become known.

Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation has demonstrated a consistent commitment to disaster relief efforts around the world. The foundation previously contributed $100,000 to hurricane relief efforts in October 2024 and $250,000 to earthquake relief in Türkiye. These contributions underscore the foundation’s dedication to providing immediate assistance when natural disasters strike vulnerable populations.

The Venezuela earthquake relief effort has also attracted support from other major artists in the music industry. Rush created a new T-shirt in collaboration with Venezuelan director David Calcano. All profits from the shirt are being donated to Hogar Bambi, an organization supporting children affected by the earthquakes. This multi-pronged approach from the music community demonstrates the collective responsibility artists feel toward global humanitarian needs.

The timing of Metallica’s donation reflects the foundation’s track record of rapid response to natural disasters. By mobilizing resources quickly through established partnerships like Direct Relief, the All Within My Hands Foundation ensures that aid reaches affected populations when it is most critically needed. The organization’s focus on medical supplies and support for displaced families addresses the most pressing immediate needs in the aftermath of such devastating seismic events.
