Nikki Sixx is finding it difficult to return to a normal routine after months on the road with Mötley Crüe.

“Still having a hard time getting to bed at a normal hour since coming off the road. After months of touring, late nights, adrenaline, and living out of suitcases, I guess my internal clock hasn’t gotten the memo that we’re home,” Sixx wrote on X.

“It’s funny how long it takes to get into the rhythm of touring and then how hard it is to get back to everyday life. Not complaining. Loving being home, just trying to find that balance again.”

The bassist’s comments point to the lingering effects of a schedule built around late performances, constant travel and very little downtime.

The adjustment Sixx describes is familiar territory for a band whose road schedule has repeatedly pushed its members far beyond a normal work routine.

The Final Tour was announced as the band’s last run before an initial hiatus that lasted from 2016 until the group announced a comeback reunion in 2019. The first leg of that tour began on July 2, 2014 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, setting the pace for an extended worldwide cycle.

The Final Tour saw the band perform across five continents — North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia — for a total of more than 164 shows after thirty-four years performing together.

The band first announced its two-year Final Tour by signing a “Cessation of Touring Agreement” at a press conference in Los Angeles in January 2014, a document that closed the door on touring under the Mötley Crüe name after 2015. That cycle was set to conclude with a New Year’s Eve show on December 31, 2015 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, the band’s hometown and the place where its career began 34 years earlier.

The sheer scale of that schedule helps explain why coming home can feel so disorienting. Months of late nights, travel and adrenaline shape a daily rhythm that does not simply switch off when the suitcases are unpacked. For Sixx, adjusting to life at home appears to be less about stepping away from music than about relearning the pace of everyday life after months spent on the road.
