Sleep Token has achieved a historic milestone with their third studio album “Take Me Back to Eden” receiving its first-ever platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album was originally released on May 19, 2023, through Spinefarm Records. It has surpassed more than 2 billion global streams and crossed one million equivalent units in the United States, marking a significant achievement for the masked British band in the heavy music landscape.

Revolver reported that: “‘Take Me Back to Eden’ recently surpassed more than 2 billion global streams, which means that Vessel and Co.’s third longplayer has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Furthermore, the album’s second single, ‘The Summoning,’ has been certified Gold, which means that it has cleared 500,000 plays on its own. ‘Take Me Back to Eden’ is Sleep Token’s first Platinum album. Last year’s ‘Even in Arcadia’ reached Gold status earlier in 2026.”

The platinum certification represents a remarkable accomplishment for Sleep Token in the current music industry. Platinum certifications for metal and heavy music albums have become increasingly rare. The album’s breakout single “The Summoning” has earned a gold certification. This demonstrates the widespread appeal of the record across multiple tracks. The album also features other standout tracks including “Chokehold,” which have contributed to the project’s sustained commercial success.

This certification underscores the band’s explosive growth since the release of “Take Me Back to Eden.” The band has since transitioned from their independent Spinefarm Records label to the major label RCA Records. The band’s fanbase has expanded dramatically, with streaming numbers reflecting a five-fold increase in listener engagement compared to their previous work. The 2 billion global streams milestone demonstrates the album’s enduring appeal across international markets and diverse listener demographics.

Sleep Token’s platinum achievement stands as a notable rarity in contemporary heavy music. The last comparable platinum certification in the metal genre dates back to Metallica’s “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct” in 2017. This seven-year gap highlights how exceptional Sleep Token’s commercial performance has been within the heavy music sphere. The band’s ability to achieve such mainstream success while maintaining their distinctive artistic identity and mysterious aesthetic has resonated with audiences worldwide. They have established themselves as one of the most commercially successful acts in modern metal and progressive music.

Following the success of “Take Me Back to Eden,” Sleep Token released their latest album “Even in Arcadia” in 2026 under their new RCA Records partnership. This album has already achieved gold status. The band’s trajectory from independent release to platinum-certified album to major label success represents a remarkable ascent in the heavy music industry. They have cemented their position as one of the defining acts of their generation.
