Shock rock legends GWAR have launched a critical fundraising and auction campaign to assist founding member Chuck Varga, best known for wielding The Sexecutioner character, amid his intense battle with cancer. The band is offering exclusive merchandise and putting his legendary stage axe up for auction to cover mounting medical and hospice expenses.

Chuck Varga performed as The Sexecutioner from 1985 to 2022 and is currently battling cancer. He and his wife, Bambi, are facing tremendous medical, financial, and personal challenges as they navigate this difficult chapter together. GWAR created a fundraiser to help cover the mounting expenses associated with Chuck’s care. These expenses include cancer treatments, hospice care, specialized medical equipment, and additional nursing support. The funds will also help offset the cost of maintaining their Brooklyn apartment while Bambi has stepped away from work to care for Chuck full-time.

As part of the fundraiser, fans will have access to exclusive Chuck Varga merchandise created specifically for this campaign, including a brand new t-shirt featuring artwork by Chuck himself. These limited edition items give supporters a chance to contribute directly while owning a unique piece of GWAR history.

The centerpiece of the campaign is the auction of The Sexecutioner’s Axe, the legendary weapon wielded by Chuck’s iconic GWAR character for nearly four decades. This one-of-a-kind piece of GWAR history will be offered to the highest bidder, with all proceeds benefiting Chuck and Bambi.

Beyond the merchandise and auction efforts, GWAR has also announced a nationwide blood drive to assist Varga. The multi-pronged approach demonstrates the band’s commitment to mobilizing their fanbase and the broader metal community to stand behind one of their founding members during his most vulnerable period. Multiple avenues are now available for supporters to make a meaningful difference in his life and his wife’s ability to provide full-time care.
