Former Slipknot DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson has surfaced in a recording studio shortly after his 30-year run with the band came to an end, as seen in a photo shared on Instagram.
Rapper Rome Fortune shared the image of himself and Wilson working on new music, prompting reactions from fans who expressed their support for the musician during this transition.
“v0mit face,” Rome Fortune wrote in the caption of his post. Following the post, fans quickly shared supportive messages for Wilson in the comments section. “Sid we F*CKING LOVE YOU whatever you work on it we will be ready to receive it,” one fan commented. “Sid you’re the man, I am praying you find peace in this turmoil,” another fan added.
The studio appearance comes shortly after Wilson was removed from Slipknot, ending his nearly three-decade tenure with the group. His new session with Rome Fortune suggests that he may already be working on his next chapter outside the band.
Slipknot addressed Wilson’s departure in a brief statement after reports of his firing emerged. “Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the band said, adding, “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
The band did not publicly provide a specific reason for the decision. However, Wilson’s alleged behavior toward other band members contributed to his removal. The report cited an unnamed source, and Slipknot did not publicly confirm those allegations.
Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998, before the release of the band’s self-titled debut album. He became known as “#0” while handling turntables and keyboard duties for the group.
Outside Slipknot, Wilson has performed and released music under the name DJ Starscream. He has continued working under the alias and released eight studio albums as DJ Starscream. He also launched the Vomit Face record label.
Wilson has not issued a detailed public statement explaining his departure. He appeared to acknowledge the split by changing his Instagram bio from “1997-2026,” marking the end of his time with Slipknot.
