Sammy Hagar recently shared an unreleased Van Halen video, featuring a live performance of the song “Feelin'” from 1995 on YouTube.
“What a gem I found in my VH treasure box. Love this song. Look for it in the set in the future,” he posted on X along with the video link.
In 2021, Hagar had uploaded a different performance of the same song from that same tour to his social media.
“Wow, that’s a long-lost deep track I had forgotten about,” Hagar commented at the time. “That tour was tough with Alex’s neck brace and Eddie’s hip issues. He wasn’t jumping around, but he was still playing his heart out. It was kind of a dysfunctional tour, and the songs from ‘Balance’ really reflected what was happening in Van Halen.”
“Singing this song felt like pouring my heart out to 20,000 people each night. As great as the performance is, it’s hard for me to watch. Mikey’s powerful vocals always blow my mind, and this performance shows it. Listening to it takes me right back. It’s ironic the album and tour were called ‘Balance,'” he added.
Bassist Michael Anthony also commented on the same post: “WOW, I hadn’t heard that one in a long time. Definitely one of our deeper cuts, and it was on fire live! I always loved our two-part harmonies, and despite the challenges on tour (Eddie’s hip and Al’s neck), this song rocked. Oh, and what a killer solo from our lead guitarist!”
Both posts were met with appreciation and positive feedback from fans. One user shared, “I was there! I was 14, and it was my first concert. My older cousin took me. Best night ever. I love Van Halen.” Another even requested the full video.
