Many famous names unexpectedly passed away at a younger age from their bandmates and musician friends. Among these people, the Children Of Bodom singer and guitarist Alexi Laiho also takes place. His sudden death left the metal music scene in shock and mourning.

With his contribution to metal music, the rocker even had taken place in the Guitar World’s 50 fastest guitarists in the world and was ranked #41 out of 50 of the greatest metal frontmen of all time by Roadrunner Records. In addition to the lists he took place in, he was ‘widely celebrated as one of the genre’s most accomplished players,’ according to AllMusic.

The rocker’s cause of death was revealed months after his passing. With his passing away, the rocker was left with an inheritance.

Laiho’s Cause of Death

Laiho passed away at the age of 41 in 2020. His cause of death was not immediately disclosed, but two months after his passing, the cause was revealed by his wife, Kimberly Goss. According to her statement, the singer died due to ‘alcohol-induced degeneration of the liver and pancreas connective tissue.’ A mix of painkillers, opioids, and insomnia medication was also found in his system.

Despite Goss’ official statement, a post on the band’s website wrote that the rocker died at his home due to long-term health issues.

The rocker had issues with alcohol abuse in his past life. In fact, the former keyboardist Janne Wirman earlier recalled Laiho’s words, saying that Laiho told him he would drink until he died. His death was eventually alcohol induced.

Net Worth At The Time Of His Death

The frontman’s net worth was estimated to be around $6 million. The rocker owned several properties throughout his career, including a home in Finland and a condo in Los Angeles. He also had a studio in Helsinki where he recorded music and worked on new projects.

Additionally, the frontman owned several movie cars, including a ’74 Dodge Monaco, a ’57 Plymouth Belvedere, and a Pontiac Firebird, currently ranging from $7.600,00 to $69.979,00.

Despite his properties and possessions, his work with Children Of Bodom made the most of his worth, earning from album sales, merchandise, and royalties.

The rocker rose to fame with the album ‘Are You Dead Yet?’ which sold over 21,000 copies in its first week of release, and ‘Blooddrunk,’ which sold over 15,000 copies.

Although the band is no longer active, the remaining members still make an estimated amount of $11.4K.
