According to Andrews Funeral Home’s obituary, Phippins was born on October 9, 1980, and he officially joined The Day of the Beast in 2017. His connection with the band members goes back many years before joining. He also worked as a guitarist and composer through his work with Skyless and other projects.

Phippins married Christy (Henk) Phippins on August 21, 2004. Together they raised three daughters: Zoë, Skylee, and Josie. All three daughters share their father’s passion for music.

The Day of the Beast shared an emotional announcement of Phippins’ passing according to Metal Storm. The statement revealed his deep impact on the band. “His music and creativity elevated our sound to an entirely new level and he quickly became a driving force in the band.”

Phippins and The Day of the Beast were creating new material at the time of his passing. His death impacted the band’s creative trajectory. His bandmates described him as someone who “ate, slept, and breathed music.” The band noted that Phippins was quite enthusiastic about their upcoming album release.

However, the band gave no details about Phippins’ death in the statement, so his cause of death is unknown.

Despite his musical achievements, Phippins’ estate remained modest. The financial situation of Phippins’ family led The Day of the Beast to raise a GoFundMe campaign to support them. The campaign raised $4,100 to date. His wife Christy and their three daughters are the primary beneficiaries of Phippins’ legacy.
