Jaime Bennington, son of late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, shared his thoughts about Green Day members posing with Linkin Park at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Instagram. The photos of Billie Joe Armstrong with Linkin Park members sparked a critical response from the younger Bennington.
“I’m not a huge Green Day Fan or anything but seeing this [Billie Joe Armstrong’s photos with Emily Armstrong]… These pictures are pretty lame,” Jaime stated. “I gotta say. First of the pictures are fine. Yes, it’s a little sad and little lame seeing them together. But they’re artists competing for awards in the same category.”
“So, whatever. They’re bound to meet each other. They’ve likely met each other before,” he added. “I’m %100 certain that Chester’s met at least one of the Green Day guys. Second, I swear to God I swear it I just saw Green Day do a performance with they are saying something like, ‘F—k Donald Trump.'”
“I swear the God they were telling the president to go f—k himself. So, circling back to the pictures in point one, I’m kinda like, ‘You guys are kinda sellouts a little bit, aren’t you? Aren’t you a little bit.’ That’s what I see. When I see Green Day choosing to take a picture with the Armstrong,” Jaime shared.
Both bands have significantly influenced the rock music scene. Their paths have intersected at various industry events and award shows.
Political Activism In Music

Documentation from historical records shows Green Day’s consistent political stance throughout their career. Their landmark album ‘American Idiot’ became a platform for addressing various sociopolitical issues.
The band’s outspoken political commentary has defined their public persona. This context makes Jaime Bennington’s observations about their recent performance particularly relevant.
Musical Legacy And Collaborations

Green Day established their foundation in punk rock. Meanwhile, Loudwire highlighted Linkin Park’s versatility through collaborations, especially their groundbreaking project with Jay-Z on ‘Collision Course.’
This history of cross-genre collaboration distinguishes Linkin Park in the rock music landscape. Their diverse musical approach explains their presence at industry events like the iHeartRadio Music Awards.
