Courtney LaPlante Calls Out Fred Durst’s Unfair Treatment Of Spiritbox

Courtney LaPlante recently addressed Fred Durst’s unfair treatment of Spiritbox in a tweet.

The Spiritbox singer engaged in a Q&A session with fans on X about their upcoming album, ‘Tsunami Sea,’ when a user shared a photo of a ‘Tsunami Sea’ poster with a comment about stapling ‘Fred Durst Lookalike Contest’ flyers over it. The user asked if that was okay.

In her response, LaPlante revealed, “Fun fact, we did three shows of a tour with them and then they cancelled it and we never heard from them about it.”

Limp Bizkit had announced in June 2021 that they would tour the U.S. with Spiritbox as the opening act. The tour, which began on July 29 in Chicago, was supposed to wrap up on August 24 in Los Angeles.

However, Limp Bizkit canceled their show at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, N.J., on August 7, just an hour before it was set to begin. Soon after, the remaining tour dates were also called off.

“Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and most of all the fans, the Limp Bizkit show this Monday and the remaining August tour is being cancelled,” the band explained in a statement. “Refunds are available at their points of purchase. All tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded.”

Following the cancellation, rumors circulated that a member of Limp Bizkit, specifically guitarist Wes Borland, had COVID-19. A fan spoke to Fred Durst outside the Stone Pony, mentioning that Borland was ‘really sick’ after the soundcheck. However, the band denied these rumors on social media.

“Let us be clear. 1. Wes Borland does not have COVID,” Limp Bizkit wrote on Instagram. “2. The system is seriously flawed. 3. We don’t care much about the BS. Times 2. We care a lot about you. To the six. ‘They’ can kiss it. Dad vibes coming soon.”

Spiritbox has recently announced that their second album, ‘Tsunami Sea,’ will be released on March 7. The album will feature their latest single, along with 10 other tracks, including the new song ‘Perfect Soul.’
