In a recent chat with Allison Hagendorf, Deryck Whibley shared an amusing story about an encounter he had with Scott Weiland and Paris Hilton during a party.

Whibley began by recalling how he was enjoying himself and chatting with a guy he didn’t recognize, who was excited about his band signing a new record deal. “Man, that’s so great. I’m so happy for you,” Whibley thought as they spoke.

Then, the stranger mentioned Slash, catching Whibley off guard. “Excuse me, Slash? What are you talking about?” He soon realized he was talking to Weiland, before Velvet Revolver was even known to the public. Weiland mentioned they had just signed a record deal and were working on new music, but Whibley was surprised because Weiland looked nothing like he remembered, lacking his iconic red hair and goatee.

Things took a turn when someone burst into the room, announcing that police were coming to bust people for drug use. Panic set in, especially as Hilton quickly stashed cocaine from the table into her purse. Whibley and the others were left wondering what to do.

He had an idea: “What if we all just jump in this bed and get under the covers and pretend we’re having an orgy?” His plan was that when the police entered, they would see what looked like a bizarre scene and leave.

So, they all squeezed into the bed, and things got awkward when Weiland began rubbing Whibley’s chest and started to take off his pants. Whibley quickly clarified, “Whoa, whoa, what are you doing? I said pretend we’re having an orgy.” After that mix-up, they all started laughing, reminiscing, and enjoying the moment like teenagers.

After about 15 minutes of giggles and stories under the covers, they heard music in the background. Someone ventured out to find out what was happening, only to learn that the police had come for a noise complaint and left. Relieved, Whibley concluded, “Oh okay, let’s get back to our party then.”

Currently, Sum 41 is on its final tour. Last year, the band announced their breakup, and their eighth and last album, ‘Heaven :x: Hell,’ was released on March 29.
