Emily Armstrong recently shared her experience of keeping her work with Linkin Park a secret during an interview with Q101. The vocalist described how the anticipation and pressure of keeping this momentous secret affected her.
“Believe me I wanted to at some points and it just got to the point where I was just like, ‘Oh my God, could this just be over?’ I just started getting so annoyed,” Armstrong revealed. “I was so excited for a while and then it was just like frustration at the end.”
“Because there’s so many nerves you know where you’re just like, ‘I want this to stop. I want these nerves to just go away,'” she continued. “But and at the time I’m like, ‘You know what? This only happens once.’ Just try to take it in. Take it in every day.”
“So, you kind of get ahead of yourself. All this push and pull from your mind,” Armstrong added. “And so you just have to kind of be like, ‘You know what? This is only gonna happen once.’ So then, that kind of grounded me.”
This emotional revelation emerges at a crucial moment for both Armstrong’s career and Linkin Park’s evolution. Recent developments have illuminated the significance of this collaboration.
