While many fans believe the incident happened, others are skeptical, speculating that it might not be real due to the potential involvement of AI.
Limp Bizkit had been working on a new album, their first since 2021’s ‘Still Sucks.’ Durst shared a video on Instagram of drummer John Otto recording tracks.
In the video, Durst said, “Oh sh*t, in the studio with John Otto … we ’bout to lay it down with those drumsticks dawg. Let’s get that funky funky. Let’s get that Limp Bizkit popping off.”
Limp Bizkit’s Ongoing Lawsuit Against Universal Music

In other news, Limp Bizkit is suing Universal Music over unpaid royalties. They allege that Universal concealed sales and did not provide royalty statements from 1997 to 2004.
Durst’s $200 million lawsuit, however, may face challenges after Universal dismissed his claims as false and requested the case be dropped. They argue the band’s manager was informed about royalty payments in 2023, but most of the members had already sold their shares.
Limp Bizkit’s manager confirmed in April 2024 that they had not sold royalties, and Universal paid the band $1.03 million in August. Despite this, the band is continuing their lawsuit, accusing fraud and breach of contract. Durst also claims Universal hid money and is seeking to cancel contracts and receive $20 million in damages.
Limp Bizkit’s UK tour kicks off on March 8 at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, followed by shows at LP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham on March 13, the AO Arena in Manchester on March 15, and the OVO Arena Wembley in London on March 16.
