Iron Maiden has partnered with Aviationtag to offer fans a unique piece of metal history. The announcement came through a video on YouTube. The legendary Ed Force One Boeing 747 transported the band during their 2016 world tour with frontman Bruce Dickinson as pilot. These pieces are now being offered as collectibles priced at €66.66 each.

“Aviationtag x Iron Maiden Ed Force One Edition is here! Made from the original Boeing 747 that flew Iron Maiden worldwide in 2016—with Bruce Dickinson at the controls,” the band announced. “Now’s your chance to own a real piece of this legendary aircraft. Act fast—these won’t last long!”

Bruce Dickinson shared his fond memories of the aircraft: “She always behaved like the Queen Of The Skies that the 747 will always be. There will never be another to occupy her throne. The power, the noise of those 4 engines, the featherlight touchdowns (not my fault — blame good design) and her airborne elegance put the 747 in a unique category.”

This iconic aircraft’s transformation into collectibles marks the end of an era in Iron Maiden’s touring history. Its legacy spans multiple aircraft and countless miles in the sky.

Research from Gauge Master Retail revealed that Ed Force One had humble beginnings. The band’s first custom aircraft was a Boeing 757, registered as G-OJIB. This aircraft now serves with FedEx Express.

The upgrade from the 757 to the 747 significantly enhanced the band’s touring capabilities. The larger aircraft provided more space and improved performance for their ambitious touring schedule.

The Final Journey

Simple Flying documented the Boeing 747’s current status. The aircraft, registered as TF-AAK, remains stored in the United Kingdom awaiting its final disposition.

The plane’s transformation into collectible pieces creates its final legacy. This unique tribute allows fans to own a piece of Iron Maiden’s touring history.

SlashGear highlighted the Boeing 747’s special modifications. The aircraft received custom cargo configurations to accommodate the band’s extensive touring equipment.

These modifications enabled unprecedented touring efficiency. The band could transport their entire stage show, crew, and members in a single flight. This capability revolutionized their touring approach.
