In a recent interview with The Metal Voice, Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X talked about Jon Bon Jovi’s health and revealed that there is new material coming out.
“A record came out last year called ‘Forever,’ right? There’s a surprise coming out, there’s a couple of new songs coming out this year. I can’t say, that’s what a surprise means,” the guitarist explained.
Although he didn’t reveal many details about the surprise, he did mention that the songs are already recorded and titled. “We have recorded the songs, they’re recorded. I know what the titles are but I can’t share all I can say is that I got to rip into one of the tunes it was fun.”
He also gave an update on Jon’s health, saying, “He did the road to recovery right. We’re rocking out, he’s hitting notes I haven’t heard in a long time. We would rock out for a few hours and that’s it.”
Jon Bon Jovi is still recovering from vocal surgery he had over two years ago. He’s not ready to tour yet, confirming that he won’t be able to tour for the ‘Forever’ album. However, he told People in June that he was recovering ‘step by step.’ “We performed last night in Nashville, and everything was very good. So step by step, I’m getting back to it,” he said.
Jon had also mentioned in March that he was looking forward to the possibility of touring this year.
