The Offspring guitarist Kevin ‘Noodles’ Wasserman has announced that he is stepping away from live performances for the immediate future due to a sudden and serious health issue. The announcement was shared via the band’s official X account.
In his statement, Wasserman expressed his sadness over the decision and thanked his bandmates and fans for their support during this time.
“It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue,” Wasserman said. “The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence.”
He also shared his hopes for a quick recovery and expressed gratitude to the fans.
“I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later,” he continued. “Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it.”
No further details regarding the nature of his health issue have been released at this time.
The announcement leaves the band’s immediate touring plans intact, as The Offspring have confirmed they will keep playing their scheduled shows while Wasserman focuses on his recovery.
The group’s upcoming calendar includes the Rock 2 Freedom benefit at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Oct. 24, SEMA Fest in Las Vegas on Nov. 6, Corona Capital in Mexico City on Nov. 21, and iHeartRadio’s ALTer Ego 2027 in Inglewood on Jan. 16. As of now, no replacement guitarist has been publicly identified, and a spokesperson for the group had not returned Billboard’s request for additional details on what is ailing the musician.
The current tour dates follow a busy stretch for the Orange County punk outfit. The band’s live schedule supports Supercharged, its 11th studio album, which was released in 2024. The group wrapped the main North American arena leg of its Supercharged Worldwide Tour earlier this year after a run across the U.S. and Canada, but it has continued with festival and special-event appearances since then.
