RHCP’s Flea Shares Dream Gig: ‘Slayer And Sigur Rós On The Same Stage Alternating Songs’

Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea recently revealed his dream gig on X.

“I guess my idea for a gig with Slayer and Sigur Ros on the same stage alternating songs is never gonna happen,” the bassist wrote in his post.

Some fans were also excited to see that kind of a thing happen in the future as one said in the comment section, “I would pay to see that epicness.”

“Are they both into it? Because it would definitely sell out,” another one said. “I’d be there!!” one other commenter noted under the post.

Flea constantly shares his ideas on X on different topics. Last month, he named the greatest rock female singer of all time for him, writing, “Chrissie Hynde is the greatest female rock singer of all time.”

In the comments, some people agreed with Flea, while others suggested different names. “I can agree she is one of the best of the best,” one commenter noted.

Another one stated, “Saw them in Gainesville Fl back in the day.” One other added, “They were absolutely clean in concert. Almost like hearing the album, but for the ad-lib on stage ext…. As a musician, I was impressed!!”

It happened after Flea mentioned Paul McCartney in a podcast with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson. Flea called Paul the best bassist and said, “I think Paul’s the greatest rock bass player. There are so many guys that are great in different ways, but Paul’s bass playing is so lyrical and melodic, and it’s just so beautiful. One of the things I’ve heard is that he puts the bass on after.”

The rocker added, “A band like mine, a lot of songs start with basslines… or the music comes first. Whereas I think Paul and John and George, they wrote songs and [then] Paul would do the bass… So then he’s doing, like a counter melody, so the bass is like a melody as opposed to just rhythm, and that’s amazing.”

The North American leg of RHCP’s Global Stadium Tour ended on July 30, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri. The band has been planning to write new material by giving a break to touring in 2025.
