Sammy Hagar Defends Shortened Performance Due To Fatigue

Sammy Hagar responded to criticism about cutting his performance short due to fatigue in an Instagram post.

“Thank you, Vegas. See you in Cabo the calm before the storm. I’ll be ready for you. PS it’s beautiful here,” he wrote in the caption alongside a video showcasing his view.

A fan commented, “What happened Sammy? Were you too tired last night? You cut short even though the show wasn’t long enough, we still had a great time. Keep on rocking.”

Hagar clarified, “Hold on now, we played one hour and 40 minutes and we were only supposed to play one hour and 30 minutes. The Casinos don’t like you to play over one and a half hours. Anyway, I had fun.”

Another commenter expressed frustration, saying, “I’ve never gotten tix. Too bad you can’t regulate it so people that have been before fall to the bottom of the list. Give everyone a chance.”

In response, Hagar explained, “We’ve tried everything my friend: from free tickets, first come, first serve, the lottery. We got dinner shows, first come, first serve, still today. That’s why I did two shows in Vegas, so 5,000 more people could make the birthday bash. Still working on it at 77. Peace and happiness, my friend.”

Hagar announced in June that his 34th Birthday Bash would expand to Las Vegas in 2024. The event took place at the Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort on October 4 and 5 and will move to Cabo on October 11 and 13 for his 77th birthday. The lineup features Michael Anthony, Vic Johnson, Kenny Aronoff, and more.

“Every year we try to do something a little different with the birthday bash shows to accommodate the tens of thousands of requests. So this year this should help a few thousand more people be a part of the birthday shows and the island at the Palms closing for the winter; it’s a double celebration in Las Vegas,” Hagar noted.

He added, “I hope everyone is happy with this year’s concept. I can’t wait. What a way to close the year out and flip another number 77 wow 0077 sounds like a lucky one to me.”

Sammy’s Birthday Bash concerts follow his The Best of All Worlds 2024 tour, where he was joined by Anthony, Jason Bonham, and Joe Satriani. Aronoff later stepped in for Bonham due to a family emergency.
