Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan has confirmed that the band would eagerly reunite with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale for additional live performances while their search for a permanent lead singer continues. When asked if the band would consider doing another run of dates with Hale should their window of opportunity align, Bolan responded enthusiastically. “I would love to,” he stated. “We came close another time, but then they had gigs pop up and she couldn’t do it. She has said that she would do more, but it’s really hard for her because she’s always on the road. When they’re not on the road, they are in studio.”

Bolan revealed that the initial collaboration was limited in scope due to scheduling constraints. “That was just a moment—those four dates,” he explained. “There was about seven or eight, maybe nine dates that we had to do. She couldn’t do the other ones because of her schedule.” Despite the limitations, Bolan expressed deep affection for Hale and her contributions to the band during this transitional period. “I love her. She’s like a little sister to me. We would do it in a heartbeat until we find someone, for sure. But she’s got a pretty tight schedule.”

The band’s openness to working with Hale again reflects the ongoing challenges they face in their quest to find a permanent frontman. Since Erik Grönwall’s departure in 2024 due to health reasons, Skid Row has been actively searching for a new lead vocalist. Hale stepped in as a guest vocalist for several of the band’s live shows in 2024, providing crucial support during a difficult period. Her willingness to help, combined with the chemistry she developed with the band, has made her a natural choice for potential future collaborations.

The band’s search process has been methodical and comprehensive. Skid Row launched a worldwide audition in partnership with Sweetwater. Applicants were asked to submit video recordings of themselves singing “18 and Life” and “Monkey Business.” The response was overwhelming, with the band receiving close to 400 video submissions from aspiring vocalists around the globe. This extensive outreach demonstrates the band’s commitment to finding not just a talented singer, but the right person to represent Skid Row’s legacy and vision moving forward.

As of mid-2026, the band continues to review audition materials and has brought approximately five finalists in for live auditions. Rachel Bolan has been clear about the criteria the band is seeking in a new frontman: strong vocal ability, the capacity to tour extensively, and a personable demeanor that fits with the band’s chemistry. The band is not looking for a gimmick or a contest winner, but rather a genuine artist capable of carrying the band’s storied catalog and creating new material. Bolan has acknowledged that finding a new permanent singer and launching a full tour by the end of 2026 would be “a massive stretch.” The band is taking their time to make the right decision rather than rushing into a commitment they might later regret.

The possibility of reuniting with Lzzy Hale for additional dates remains appealing to the band, even as they continue their broader search for a permanent replacement. Her proven ability to connect with Skid Row’s fanbase and her respect within the metal community make her an attractive option for future collaborations. However, Hale’s demanding schedule with Halestorm makes extended commitments difficult for her to manage. Both touring and studio work keep her occupied year-round. For now, Skid Row remains focused on their audition process, with the door left open for Hale to return whenever circumstances permit.
