Twisted Sister has sold their remaining copyrights. The decision was revealed in a recent interview with Forbes. The legendary metal band’s guitarist Jay Jay French detailed the reasoning behind the September 2024 sale during his discussion with the publication.

“[The decision to sell the rights in September 2024] was driven by several factors, including the aging of the band members and the fact that none of their kids wanted to continue in the Twisted Sister business,” French said.

The business move coincides with a broader trend of legendary rock bands reassessing their musical legacies and business operations.

Musical Innovation And Success

The Long Island Music Hall of Fame highlighted the band’s exceptional business strategy throughout their career. Their 2006 release ‘A Twisted Christmas’ emerged as the most successful heavy metal Christmas album in the genre’s history.

The band successfully merged holiday classics with their signature heavy metal sound. This creative approach demonstrated their ability to evolve while maintaining their distinctive style.

Global Impact And Revival

Guitar World documented the band’s impressive comeback during the 2000s. Their festival headlining performances worldwide attracted multiple generations of fans.

This period of renaissance proved their enduring influence. The band successfully connected with both longtime supporters and new audiences, enhancing their musical legacy’s value.
