The Most Tattooed Rock Bands: Metallica, Linkin Park, and Rammstein Lead the Way

A new study by LLTattoo has revealed the rock and metal bands that inspire the most tattoos.

The research analyzed search volume data to determine how many people are looking for tattoos related to or inspired by famous rock bands.

Pink Floyd tops the list, with tattoos inspired by the band receiving an average of 13,000 searches per month. Guns N’ Roses comes in second, with tattoos related to the band getting an average of 10,675 searches each month.

While Pink Floyd and Guns N’ Roses dominate the top spots, Rammstein ranks third, surpassing Metallica and Linkin Park. The German band’s tattoos receive an average of 10,558 searches per month.

Metallica follows in fourth place, with tattoos related to the band receiving an average of 9,367 searches each month. Linkin Park holds sixth place, with tattoos related to the band getting 8,425 searches monthly.

The rest of the list includes Nirvana in fifth, Slipknot in seventh, Twenty One Pilots in eighth, Iron Maiden in ninth, and Tool in tenth.

Mentor Dedaj of LLTattoo shared his thoughts on the study. “It’s very interesting to see which rock bands inspire the most tattoo pieces around the world. Rock music and ink are seemingly inseparable, and tats are almost obligatory to big rock heads,” he said.

Dedaj added: “Having inked people in our studio with pieces influenced by some of these artists, some of the results are unsurprising. However, there are also a few interesting bands included in the top ten, as well as a few that surprisingly didn’t make the list.”

A similar study by Ticketsource last year found that Pink Floyd is the rock and metal band that has inspired the most tattoos. The band ranks high with 30,397 Instagram posts showing Pink Floyd tattoos. The top 10 is dominated by rock and metal acts, including Slipknot in third, Nirvana in fifth, Iron Maiden in sixth, David Bowie in ninth, and Metallica in tenth.
