Ozzfest will officially return in 2027 at Villa Park in Birmingham. The upcoming event marks the festival’s first run since 2018 and brings the brand back to the venue where Ozzy Osbourne gave his final performance last year.

Organizers confirmed the news with a brief update: “More info on everything coming soon.”

Sharon Osbourne discussed plans for the festival’s return in recent interviews. Speaking to Metal Hammer, she explained that the event might span one or two days based on fan interest, noting that booking talks with potential headliners and artists are active.

Sharon also noted that the festival plans to expand beyond its traditional sound by spotlighting newer talent. “It was something Ozzy was very passionate about: giving young talent a stage in front of a lot of people,” Sharon said.

She continued, “We really started metal festivals in this country. It was replicated but never done with the spirit of what ours was, because ours was a place for new talent. It was like summer camp for kids.”

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne founded Ozzfest in 1996 after organizers excluded Ozzy from the Lollapalooza bill. The inaugural lineup included Ozzy alongside Slayer, Danzig, Biohazard, and Sepultura. The tour soon served as a major launchpad for bands like Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, and System Of A Down before expanding into international markets across Europe and Asia.

The festival went on hiatus following its 2018 California event due to rising industry costs and financial disagreements with artist representatives.

“It was a very weird beast,” she said. “All the bands were our mates, but the managers were greedy.”

She added, “We made a profit. But it was not like we could retire on it. Managers and agents wanted more and more and more, and it just wasn’t cost-effective anymore.”

The Birmingham return carries deep emotional weight for the brand. Last year, Villa Park hosted the “Back To The Beginning” show, where Ozzy performed solo and reunited with Black Sabbath alongside acts like Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, and Tool, just 17 days before his death at age 76.

Organizers have not yet released the exact 2027 dates or lineup details.
