Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine recently announced the band’s upcoming world tour plans, which will feature Anthrax, Kerry King, and Testament, during an appearance on Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk.
Mustaine discussed the extensive touring schedule, highlighting the various international territories the band plans to visit in the coming months.
“There’s a lot of really great touring opportunities for us,” Mustaine said. “We’re gonna be doing the States, we’re gonna be going back to Europe, we’re gonna be going down into the Asian territories. We’re leaving in a couple weeks to New Zealand, and followed up with Australia.”
He also expressed excitement about returning to countries they haven’t played in years, as well as visiting new destinations.
“And just going back to Korea,” Mustaine continued. “We hadn’t been there in almost 20 years. So we’ve got a lot of really great things we’re doing. We’re looking at going back to India. And [there’s talk of us] going down to South Africa, which would be great, ’cause that’s one of the territories that I haven’t been to that I really wanna go to.”
Additionally, Mustaine shared details about the supporting acts joining Megadeth on different legs of the tour.
“The touring is heavy, and we’ve decided to take out a lot of our friends,” Mustaine added. “Anthrax and Kerry King are going out with us on the next run. After that, we’re going out with Black Label Society and Testament [in Europe], which is gonna be great. I love both those bands. And many more. Many, many more.”
These tour plans are expected to extend into 2027. The announcement fits into a much bigger chapter for the band, as Megadeth is currently in the middle of its final run as a touring act.
The band’s most recent album will stand as its last studio release, and the group launched a farewell tour in 2026 to close out its career. Mustaine has said the timing lets Megadeth retire “on top” after more than four decades of activity.
The farewell campaign also reflects Megadeth’s long relationship with the biggest names in thrash metal. The trek is designed as a multi-year, multi-continent run, with Anthrax and Kerry King joining one leg before Black Label Society and Testament take over the European dates. The same report notes that the European shows are set to continue into 2027.
Kerry King’s presence adds extra historical weight to the lineup. The Slayer guitarist briefly played with Megadeth during the band’s earliest days, and Slayer and Anthrax later shared stages with Megadeth as members of thrash metal’s “Big Four” alongside Metallica. That background gives the upcoming bill a direct link to the genre’s defining era.
