Sleep Token has issued a statement denying any connection to outside projects using their name, in comments shared via Instagram.
The statement addresses claims made by a project that appeared on social media and used the Sleep Token name to promote itself. Fans identified the project as Arcus, which had claimed affiliation with a Sleep Token co-creator.
Sleep Token said in their statement: “A word, for the sake of clarity. Sleep Token has no affiliation with any outside musical project that invokes this name, nor with anyone who uses it to promote one.”
The band added: “Such claims are not made with out blessing and are not endorsed by Sleep Token. What is ours is here, and here alone.”
Sleep Token fans responded with criticism of Arcus and its claims. One fan commented: “This is about Arcus. A group claiming to be ‘from the co-creator of Sleep Token’ showed up on social media a month ago. Speculation ran rampant. I’m glad they made this statement because the whole thing felt icky from the get. Sometimes you have to protect what’s yours a bit more firmly.”
Another fan expressed stronger objection to Arcus’s use of the co-creator title. “Honestly…the audacity to claim ‘co-creator’ as a title. And then to name the project Arcus. You are not the King of our Arcadia. That is Vessel. And II is his right hand and guardian. Back off before the Knights, III and IV lead the army of fans after you. You sir, are no longer welcome in Arcadia.”
A third fan added context about where Arcus had been promoted: “The new mystery project named Arcus that used their name to promote their material. It’s been circulating on TikTok.”
The band’s statement came as the Arcus project was gaining attention online through claims of Sleep Token connection. Sleep Token supporters have rejected those claims and rallied behind the band’s official position.
Sleep Token is a British rock band from London, formed in 2016. The band has remained anonymous throughout their career, led by a frontman using the moniker Vessel and including a co-creator known as II. During live performances, they are joined by touring musicians including bassist III, guitarist IV, and a backing vocal trio called Espera.
The band achieved major success with their 2023 album Take Me Back To Eden, released on May 19, 2023, which was officially certified Platinum in the US. The album launched Sleep Token from cult status to international prominence, with their monthly Spotify listeners growing from less than 300,000 in January 2023 to over 1.5 million a month later. Take Me Back To Eden peaked at number three on the UK charts and reached number 16 on the Billboard 200, leading to massive international tours that included a headline arena show at London’s Wembley Arena in December 2023, which sold out in under ten minutes.
Sleep Token released their fourth studio album Even in Arcadia on 9 May 2025 through RCA Records. The album broke records upon release, reaching the top of charts worldwide and confirming the band as a major force in heavy music. II won a Grammy on February 1, 2026 for Best Rock Performance. First-week sales for Even In Arcadia reached 127,000 copies, marking substantial growth from the 16,000 copies that Take Me Back To Eden sold in its first week during 2023.
The band has remained largely inactive throughout 2026, with their most recent live performance at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on October 11, 2025. The Arcus project emerged in September 2026, claiming to come from a Sleep Token co-creator, though no official band member has confirmed this claim to be true.
