Marilyn Manson recently kicked off his series of performances celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1996 album Antichrist Superstar, receiving highly positive reactions from fans. The performance was captured in a fan’s video shared online, which sparked numerous comments praising his return.
Fans expressed deep appreciation for Manson’s energy and recovery, comparing his current stage presence to other veteran rock musicians.
“All hail HIS HIGHNESS! Back with a vengeance,” one fan commented. “Show this to Axl Rose et al, this is how you get it done as an ‘aging rockstar.’ Deep gratitude for his recovery work, it is the reason THIS is happening. The world needs a little Manson right now. Or a LOT.”
Other attendees highlighted the intensity of the live experience, noting that recordings do not fully capture the scale of the performance.
“Of the four times I’ve seen him since 2025, this show was definitely the most intense,” another fan said. “And the most metal! I still can’t get over how amazing he looks and sounds here. Videos and pictures don’t do justice how huge all of this felt being close to the stage.”
Additionally, listeners pointed out significant improvements in Manson’s vocal delivery and stamina compared to previous years.
“His voice and stamina are so much better now,” a fan added. “He screamed out the words to Angel With The Scabbed Wings consistently again like it’s 1996. For years he lost breath and talked it out. Such a great performance.”
The strong fan response follows a carefully planned rollout for the anniversary run, which has grown steadily since it was first revealed earlier this year.
Manson announced a two-night residency at The Wiltern in Los Angeles in March, which sold out quickly. Additional shows in New Orleans, San Antonio and Austin were revealed in July as demand for the anniversary celebration continued to build.
The expanded schedule now stretches across four cities. The dates include two nights at The Fillmore in New Orleans, two at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, two at Emo’s in Austin, and two back at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on October 31 and November 1.
The shows are built around a full-album presentation rather than a standard greatest-hits set. The opening performances saw Manson play the majority of the record in an altered sequence, with “Cryptorchid” and “Wormboy” left off the setlist.
The run has also brought several deep cuts back to the stage for the first time in decades. “Kinderfeld,” “Deformography” and “Minute of Decay” were performed live for the first time since 1997, while “Little Horn” returned for the first time since 2014. The set also included “The Reflecting God,” “Tourniquet,” “Mister Superstar,” “The Beautiful People,” “Irresponsible Hate Anthem” and “Man That You Fear.”
