Tommy Lee’s wife, Brittany Furlan, shared on Instagram that they cannot return home due to the wildfires.
“Unable to return home for another week they’re saying as we are so close to the fire line (We are lucky to have a home to return to),” she posted on her Instagram story. “They are saying that we need to look up if our tap water is even safe to bathe in.”
Brittany continued, “Check your area at www.WaterforLA.com. And for our area, we need to wear N95 masks every time we go outside for the next few months because there’s so much particulate in the air. This is an unreal time and I’m sending everyone love.”
Recent wildfires in Los Angeles have destroyed the homes of several rock musicians, including Lee, Scott Ian, Brad Wilk, and Joe Bonamassa. Many have been evacuated. Brittany Furlan wrote on Instagram last week, “We were evacuated last night. The fire is 0% contained. Praying for a miracle.”
A few days ago, Tommy Lee criticized rockers on Instagram for promoting albums during the wildfires. The Mötley Crüe drummer wrote, “Makes me f*cking sick to see most people just caring on a posting on lame a** social media! Guys right now nobody gives a flying f*ck when your record drops or the next concert is when so many people are in the middle of one of the biggest disasters of all time!”
He added, “I get that some comic relief is always need but Jesus Christ leave it all alone and maybe just stop and see who needs help if you can.”
Although the dangerous fire weather in Los Angeles has eased, more Santa Ana Winds are expected next week, as Al Jazeera reported. Authorities fear the number of deaths may rise as rescue efforts continue. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has received over 150 tips regarding the cause of the Palisades Fire.
At least 27 people have died, 31 are still missing, and entire neighborhoods have been destroyed. Cleanup could take months. Ten deaths are linked to the Palisades Fire and 17 to the Eaton Fire. Around 82,400 people are still evacuated, with another 90,400 under warning.
