Jaime Bennington, son of late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington, has voiced strong criticism toward band members Mike Shinoda and Joe Hahn. His statement appeared on The Picture Pieces Archive. The criticism addresses recent comments from Shinoda and Hahn about upcoming Linkin Park material, which they described as ‘some of their best work.’
“In my opinion, Mike and Joe’s opinions are meaningless. How could their opinions carry any weight when they are liars, thieves, and hypocrites?” Jaime stated. “We are talking about people who cherry pick the pieces of the picture that make up their image.”
“When Joe and Mike share their opinions about what they are calling ‘some of their best work,’ Emily and C-dawg nod in approval and Tetris is like ‘wow, they all agree,'” he continued. “And it’s like… Who the f-ck are you? So the imposters are impressed. And what? How can they have opinions on the band’s best work ever when they are clearly transplants? You aren’t Linkin Park. You aren’t even Xero.”
This heated response emerges as the band prepares to release new material for the first time since Chester Bennington’s passing in 2017.

Louder Sound documented the band’s active work on new material throughout early 2025. This period represents their most intensive creative phase since Chester Bennington’s passing.
The band’s current iteration features significant changes to their lineup and sound. Emily Armstrong’s addition marks the most substantial transformation in their history.
Historical Context

WMMR highlighted the significance of Xero in the band’s history. The group formed in 1996 as Linkin Park’s original incarnation.
Jaime Bennington’s reference to Xero carries special weight. The early project represented the foundation of what later became one of rock music’s most successful bands, featuring his father Chester Bennington in the original lineup.
