Catherine Holmes, the wife and manager of former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes, recently shared a positive update regarding his cancer treatment in a post on Instagram.
The update focused on the completion of Holmes’ radiotherapy sessions and expressed gratitude to the medical team who supported them throughout the process.
“Today was the last day of radiotherapy,” Catherine Holmes said. “It was something special and emotional to let the team who support and carry us on their shoulders for two months. Thank you to all the Rubis team room at the Lacassagne Hospital from the bottom of our hearts, and thank you to Genevieve, who for the second time cut the fire to Chris and made things easier. We love you all.”
The message offered an encouraging moment in Holmes’ ongoing health battle and highlighted the support he has received from his family, medical team, and fans.
Christopher John Holmes was born in 1958 and began his music career in the Pasadena, California, area in the late 1970s. He is best known as one of the lead guitarists of the heavy metal band W.A.S.P.
Holmes joined W.A.S.P. in 1983 and played on the band’s first four studio albums and first live album. He left the group in 1990, returned in 1996, and remained with the band until 2001.
Holmes’ latest treatment is connected to his prostate cancer diagnosis. He began radiotherapy in France, and the treatment was considered essential and could not be interrupted. The campaign was launched to help cover his medical expenses.
In a previous interview, Holmes described the positive outlook surrounding his diagnosis, saying, “The good thing is it’s 100% curable.”
Further updates have continued to draw attention to Holmes’ recovery. Holmes provided another health update in August 2026 after beginning chemotherapy for prostate cancer in France. The report also noted that he had previously undergone treatment for throat and neck cancer four years earlier.
