Former Ministry And Prong Drummer Aaron Rossi Dies At 44

Aaron Rossi, renowned drummer for industrial metal band Ministry and groove metal pioneers Prong, has died at age 44. The tragic event occurred on January 27, 2025, and was announced through an official statement on Rossi’s official Facebook page.

“It is with overwhelming sadness to share that on January 27, 2025, Aaron John Rossi passed away from a sudden, severe heart attack,” the statement read. “AAron was a force with his own gravitational pull. His powerful energy instantly captured you.”

“If you saw him on stage, you were blown away by his immense power, speed and agility – and if you were lucky enough to know him in person, you were equally taken by his kindness, humor and humility,” the statement continued. “AAron leaving us so soon is beyond devastating, but we know that he would not want to be remembered that way. He made us laugh and told us stories like it was his job.”

A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in the future. Details will be shared at a later date.

Rossi’s sudden passing concludes a remarkable career in the metal music industry.

Ministry Years And Achievements

Consequence reports that Rossi began his journey with Ministry in 2008 as a touring drummer. He later became a full-time member after the band’s 2011 reunion. His discography with Ministry includes the live album ‘Adios… Puta Madres’ (2009) and the studio album ‘From Beer to Eternity’ (2013).

Blabbermouth notes that Rossi’s talents earned him a Grammy Award nomination at the 52nd Grammy Awards in 2010.

Wikipedia documents Rossi’s two distinct periods with Prong. He first played with the band from 2005 to 2009. He later returned for a second stint from 2018 to 2021. His first tenure included recording the acclaimed album ‘Power of the Damager’ (2007).
