In a recent tweet, Dee Snider reminisced about his kiss with Meat Loaf.

A user on Twitter shared a photo of the two kissing, captioning it, “Ummm… Dee Snider?? Swiping through Pinterest I found this picture of you… lol!”

Snider responded, explaining the moment: “The late Meatloaf came up on stage during one of my performances and laid that big ol’ sweaty, wet auntie kiss on me! I think he meant it as a compliment!”

The kiss took place at a Celebrity Apprentice premiere party held at John Rich’s Nashville estate, ‘Mount Richmore,’ following a lively jam session. During the event, Meat Loaf performed ‘Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad’ and ‘Johnny B. Goode,’ after which Snider took the stage to sing ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ and ‘Rock and Roll’ with assistance from Wilson. When the two were about to share the microphone, Meat Loaf moved it aside and went in for the kiss.

Meat Loaf passed away in Nashville on January 20, 2022, at the age of 74. While no official cause was given, reports indicated complications related to COVID-19. Following his death, Snider paid tribute to Meat Loaf on X, stating, “So sad to hear about the passing of Meat Loaf. I’ve got some amazing memories with that man from Castle Donnington in ’83 to Celebrity Apprentice to parties at house. He was a true force of nature… and that voice! Love and condolences to his family.”

“True story: Meatloaf summoned me to his trailer to ‘pass the torch of rock n roll to this then young gun. It was pretty intense and confrontational, to tell the truth…but what an honor to get the blessing of such a great man!” Snider later shared on X.

He added, “I spoke with my tour manager who was a witness to make sure my memory is right. At some point, Meat grabbed me by the shoulders and started leaning on me hard, literally pushing me backward. I remember thinking, ‘Wtf is he doing?!’ and grabbing him by his shoulders and pushing back.”

“My tour manager said it was like two huge stags locking horns and pushing back and forth. The entire time he was intensely pronouncing me the future of rock, etc. It was weird as effing hell…and we remained friends!” Snider continued.

Loaf’s wife and daughters were with him at the hospital when he passed away. Many stars, including Bonnie Tyler, Cher, and Brian May, shared tributes, and the Queen’s Guard played ‘I’d Do Anything for Love.’
