Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider took to X to share his reaction to a fan question — and it was about Ace Frehley.
The rocker wrote, “I was walking through a store when I heard a voice behind me calling, ‘Dee! Dee!’ It’s always nice to meet a fan so I stop & say, ‘What’s up?’ ‘I have to ask you a question,’ he says. ‘Yes?’ I reply, expecting something Twisted Sister related. ‘How tall is Ace Frehley?’ WTF!?”
When another fan asked Snider the same question about Frehley’s height, he replied, “If only there was a handheld device that could give us the answer. Oh wait… there is!”
Snider and KISS have had several interactions over the years, with Snider often criticizing KISS and commenting on their farewell tour. “The idea of the farewell tour, I don’t know what to believe,” he told The Metal Voice. “And people say, ‘Well, do you think it’s for real?’ I said, ‘This is what I know: when I see the bodies in the Kiss coffins, then I’ll say, ‘They’re done. They’re done.’ When they’re laying there in the coffins, I’ll say, ‘Good work. Good job.'”
He also criticized KISS for allowing replacement members to wear the signature stage makeup of original guitarist Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. “I hate what Kiss is doing,” Snider said in the Appetite for Distortion podcast. “I hate what Kiss is doing with the guys with Ace and Peter’s makeup on — I’m not a fan.”
While KISS has officially ended their touring career, Dee Snider will still be performing in French Lick, Indiana, on March 1 next year.
