Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee discussed the band’s approach to releasing new music in an interview with Rock Antenne. She shared her perspective on the modern trend of releasing singles before full albums.

“I don’t have a plan, but it will be songs before a full record,” Lee stated. “I think it’s nice to be able to do that more and more. I am going to make an album. We love to make an album. I think our fans expect that. And I enjoy like putting a full catalog of songs together.”

“But at the same time,e I feel like we’ve gotten to a point where so many of us, I myself included, listen to music in songs more than we listen to music in albums,” she continued. “And it gives each song, not all of them maybe but at least a few of them, their own moment you know their own moment to really be the one thing to focus on and I think that’s cool.”

The timing of this discussion is significant as the band balances their legacy with future projects.
