Gene Simmons has addressed speculation about a next-generation KISS featuring his son Nick and Paul Stanley’s son Evan. The KISS co-founder shared his perspective in a recent interview with Ultimate Classic Rock.
“We, me and Paul, have nothing to do with it. Evan has his own band,” Simmons stated. “Nick’s music and songs have already been in Ozark and Prodigal Son.”
“In science and nature there’s something called a singularity; nobody plans it, it just happens,” he continued. “There was no guarantee that Evan and Nick would even get along, but they do. They hang out. They started strumming guitars…so they started writing their own songs. All of a sudden record companies are meeting with them.”
“But they’re not following in anybody’s footsteps,” Simmons added. “It has nothing to do with Kiss. They’re feeling is, ‘We like doing this. You’ve got opinions, we’re not really interested. This is what we’re doing.'”
Simmons and Stanley maintain distance from their sons’ musical endeavors. Recent developments indicate an organic collaboration between the next generation.
