Jesse Lee Plant: Robert Plant’s Son With His Former Sister-In-Law

Rock stars’ love lives are often turbulent — many have relationships with groupies or inappropriate affairs with women. Some were even attracted to minors over the years. Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant is not an exception, as he also had an unusual private life.

Plant was married when Led Zeppelin was internationally famous, but this didn’t prevent him from having affairs. In fact, he even had a ‘tour wife’ named Audrey Hamilton. We’re here today to look into Plant’s history with his first wife, Maureen Wilson, and how he had a child with his former sister-in-law.

Robert Plant Married Maureen Wilson

Maureen Wilson met Robert Plant at a Georgie Fame concert in 1996, and the pair started their relationship. Plant was struggling financially throughout the mid-1960s. He was playing in bands like Listen, Band of Joy, and working on a few solo projects. Wilson supported Robert financially during this time because she had a more stable income — she was a qualified nurse.

Plant even had a short stint working in Maureen’s father’s steel factory to earn money. Their relationship turned into marriage on November 9, 1968, at the Roundhouse where Led Zeppelin performed.

Maureen joined Led Zeppelin on their tours a few times, but she mainly stayed on the family farm and looked after their three children: Carmen Jane, Karac Pendragon, and Logan Romero.  Plant dedicated ‘Led Zeppelin II’s ‘Thank You’ to his wife.

The couple sadly experienced one of the worst fears of a parent. They lost their son Karac at the age of five following a stomach virus. Karac’s death and Robert’s extended time away from the family led the couple to get divorced in August 1983.

Plant Had A Son With The Sister Of His Ex-Wife

Eight years passed after Plant and Wilson got a divorce, and Plant started to have an affair with his former sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson. The two welcomed their son named Jesse Lee in 1991. He now lives a life away from the spotlight and is spotted with his father only on special occasions.

Maureen Wilson doesn’t have any hard feelings towards her ex-husband for having a child with her sister. Wilson and Plant remained friends, and in 2010 she attended a few shows during the Robert Plant and the Band of Joy European Tour when they played in the UK.
