Liam Gallagher recently addressed rumors regarding Oasis’ upcoming tour being their last, admitting on X that he made the claim to drive ticket sales.

The singer had previously sparked concern among fans by hinting that the upcoming tour dates could be the band’s final shows.

“It isn’t a farewell tour but it still could be our last,” Gallagher said.

An Oasis fan then questioned Gallagher, asking why he would suggest it could be their last tour when he previously claimed he would perform forever.

“I was obviously kidding and trying to get you all to buy lots of tickets,” Gallagher responded.

This clarification comes as Oasis prepares for its highly anticipated new run of shows, following a reunion that ended one of rock’s longest and most publicized estrangements. The comeback drew enormous demand, and the way tickets were sold became a story in itself.

The Oasis Live ’25 Tour began on July 4, 2025 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and concluded on November 23 at Estádio do Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the band’s first live appearances since they split in August 2009.

Oasis fans found tickets advertised at £148.50 that were rebranded as “in demand” and jumped in price to £355.20, which led the UK competition watchdog to force Ticketmaster to change how it advertises concert tickets.

Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission accused Ticketmaster of misleading Oasis fans by presenting prices in an unclear way and by offering platinum tickets in a manner that would cause confusion.

Noel Gallagher has also publicly accused Liam of stirring up false rumors of an Oasis reunion in the years after the band split, showing how often the brothers’ comments have fueled speculation among fans.

Liam Gallagher told fans to “stop moaning” as the first sales window opened for the band’s 2027 tour, where tickets are fixed and range between £71.50 and £266.60 including fees. All pricing information for the new dates was shared in advance after action by the competition watchdog forced Ticketmaster to change its practices, with the run including a return to Knebworth 30 years on.

The brothers’ long public history has shaped the way fans read their comments, especially when reunion news or tour updates surface. That makes Liam’s latest admission less surprising, even if it adds another twist to the story. As the new dates approach, the band’s remarks are likely to keep drawing attention, and for Oasis fans, even a joke about a final tour can quickly become part of the bigger picture.
