Following recent rumors about Scorpions drummer Mikkey Dee leaving the band, the musician took to Instagram to set the record straight.
The rocker shared a screenshot of the false news, labeled the image ‘FAKE!’ and added in the caption, “NO, I AM NOT LEAVING SCORPIONS!” He also reassured fans about his health, saying, “I am back home recovering from Sepsis and doing good progress! Never mind these bastards making up fake stories. If it’s not on my official pages, don’t trust a word.”
Dee had previously opened up about his battle with sepsis, a severe condition that can lead to inflammation, organ failure, and even death. On Facebook, he shared, “Just a quick statement about what has been happening to me these past three weeks. This holiday season, I have been hospitalized with a very serious blood infection (Sepsis). I was admitted for three weeks but now I am home fighting this bastard bacteria. Thankfully, I have received fantastic care at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, my hometown,” he wrote.
The drummer also shared his excitement for the upcoming shows and his ongoing recovery. “After several operations, I am now back home and the numbers are all going in the right direction. Still lots of recovery and rehab in front of me. Now, I’m working a 100% to be back on the drum stool for the Residency that starts off in Las Vegas on February 27. We have a tremendous 2025 to look forward to, celebrating 60 years of ‘Scorpions’ and many exciting gigs around the world.”
Dee will return to the stage with Scorpions for a special residency in Las Vegas to celebrate the band’s 60th anniversary. The shows will kick off on February 27, 2025, at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, with Buckcherry as a special guest.
