Neal Schon Thinks Paul Rodgers’ Rock Hall Exclusion Is A Sin

Paul Rodgers has never been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame throughout his career, and Neal Schon thinks it’s a sin.

A fan page on X shared a live version of Free’s ‘Fire And Water.’ In the caption, they wrote “Paul Rodgers is not in the Rock Hall” with a shocked face emoji. The Journey guitarist responded with “Yes this is beyond a f*cking sin.”

As it turns out, though, Rodgers was invited to join the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame but turned down the offer.

“Years and years ago, Ahmet Ertegun who was the head of Atlantic Records [and a co-founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame] said to me, ‘Paul, we’re making this museum of rock ‘n’ roll. Do you guys want to be part of it?,'” he explained the offer in a chat with Eddie Trunk. “And I said, ‘What, a museum of rock ‘n’ roll? What’s it called?’ He said, ‘The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.’”

“I don’t think rock ‘n’ roll belongs in a museum,” Rodgers added. The singer also said he was asked again a couple of times but still refused. “It doesn’t affect my daily life. It doesn’t affect what I do in any way at all,” he added.

Rodgers’ bands Free and Bad Company have sold a combined 40 million albums worldwide. He also spent five years as the frontman for Queen, which was inducted into the Hall in 2001.
