Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx recently addressed whether the band will go on hiatus as their “The Return of the Carnival of Sins” tour nears its finale, sharing his thoughts on X.
Sixx initially shared an update about the remaining dates of the current tour, expressing excitement for the final shows.
“Only 11 more shows left for this tour,” Sixx said. “Looking forward to seeing everybody out there. Let’s go out in a high.”
Following this update, a Mötley Crüe fan asked Sixx about the band’s upcoming plans, questioning, “What’s next after this? Any plans for next year or is it a hiatus for the Crue?”
Sixx responded by clarifying their current status and his personal plans for the remainder of the year.
“Finishing up the 3rd leg of this tour,” Sixx replied. “We haven’t made plans for next year yet. This has been a great tour and I am also looking forward to the rest of this year off with family and wrapping up a few other projects that are close to finding homes.”
The band is currently wrapping up its touring schedule before taking some time off.
A few key details add more context to the run. The tour was launched as a 2026 North American celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original Carnival of Sins era and the band’s 45th anniversary.
The original Carnival of Sins tour ran in 2005 and 2006 and was later documented in Carnival of Sins – Live. The live release featured Vince Neil, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee.
The anniversary run has also revisited the band’s early catalog. Sixx noted the set includes songs from Too Fast for Love, the group’s 1981 debut. The tour’s framing reflects a broader milestone for the band. The run marks both the 20th anniversary of Carnival of Sins and Mötley Crüe’s 45th year together.
